From: Aaron Montgomery <agm@PURDUENC.EDU> Subject: UI Issues I'm one of those people poking around in Alpha's C code right now and I've run into two behaviors and am unsure whether they are bugs or features. I guess I would like some input on these before I start changing code. In both cases, the optimal solution would be to make it a user preference, but I'm not ready to get involved in that yet so I am looking for a good "default" behavior. 1) dragging back windows: Currently clicking in the drag-bar of a back window will only select the window and not start a drag action. It is fairly straightforward for me to change the code to allow dragging a back window (and leaving it as a back window if the command key is down). Personally, I like to be able to reposition back windows without selecting them (or even having them move to the front after the drag). 2) dragging iconified windows: currently if there is a selection in an iconified window, attempting to drag the window results in the start of a drag and drop action (not a movement of the window). I can see how this might be useful, but I think it is more intuitive to have the window move. Unless I get a fairly clear group opinion, I will probably change the behavior of 1 (so that it matches other applications like Finder, Stickies, SimpleText, Eudora, CodeWarrior, ...) and leave the behavior of 2 alone Thanks, Aaron <finger:agm@purduenc.edu> <mailto:agm@purduenc.edu> <http://faculty.purduenc.edu/agm/>
