From: Robert Pyle <rpyle@tiac.net> Subject: "Save As..." bug? How does "Save As..." in the File menu choose its default folder? It's not (necessarily) the folder in which the original file lives, alas. I think it may always be the folder of some file in the Recent Files list, but I'm not sure. I expected that "Save As..." would overwrite the original file, as "Save" does. I failed to note the folder in the dialog box and of course was baffled as to why my original file seemed unchanged. (I was altering line endings to test a MacPerl script that was intended to work indiscriminately on files of Mac, DOS, or Unix persuasion). I'm running MacOS 8.1 and "Alpha version 7.2, using AlphaTcl library version 7.2fc8" (as it says in the Readme). If Alpha's behavior here is considered to be a feature rather than a bug, could someone offer me the rationale? Thanks. (That's a very general thank-you for all the work, past and future, from all of you.) Bob Pyle, Cambridge, MA, USA
