Is the analogue to this possible with all menu commands?  I suppose there
sould be a list with all those commands somewhere...

Except that in TeX you use $\ddot\smile$ and $\ddot\frown$ :-)  To wink in
TeX is a bit harder, though... ;-)

Hmm...  I used to know someone at Kyoto U but lost touch with him.  How do
