Hello Alphans! [*]

I have a problem that I hoped would have been fixed in today's
upgrade to 7.2.2fc10. The problem first occurred when I upgraded to
7.2.1b12 and I believe that it has been mentioned on the list before
(8 April). I have changed a folder name which contains an Alpha file
(folder and file names are letters & spaces only) which:

1. Breaks Alpha's save code - I get the "Weird, this file..." error,
   although the file *is* saved;
2. Makes Alpha list the whole path with some junk at the end in the
Window menu *and* disables both selection of the file from the menu
   & the command-<number> shorcut.
3. Brings up the file contents in an "untitled" window when I use
the "Open..." menu item from Alpha. File open from the Finder
   works fine.

Is there a work-around for this?

I also find myself unable in the LaTeX completions tutorial to "use
the 'back-quote' key to jump to the next completion example..." -
just exactly which key is this? Is it the "`" key? If so, all I get
when I press it is a "`" character. I can't find a word about the
'back-quote' key in the rest of the documentation! I also find that
the electric completions fail to work properly in section (e).
Please help!

While I'm asking questions, why is it necessary for so many versions
(beta & final) of Alpha to be (pre)released? There are some obvious
disadvantages to this from my POV: Frequent changes introduce
instability to Alpha - an intended bug fix has often introduced more
bugs, for example. Far more disturbing for me, the behaviour of some
of Alpha's routines is (seemingly arbitrarily) changed between
releases. Twiddle is a good example.

I like Alpha - I use it for almost all my editing jobs and I even
registered! May I cast a vote for less emphasis on frequent version
releases with minor bug fixes & new features and more emphasis on
fewer version releases with improved stability & improved
documentation?
