Subject: A Mode for Omega
Hello
This message is for those Omega users who use Omega on Macintosh (most
probably with CMacTeX). I have written and made available, as a beta
version, an Omega Mode for Alpha.
It is designed to facilitate writing, processing and testing of Omega
source files, translation processes, property lists, font metrics,
virtual fonts etc.
It has the following features :
* capacity to process a source file from within Alpha with Omega, to
view the dvi with oxdvi, convert to ps with odvips, view and print the
ps file.
* easy insertion of all the basic Omega commands (with electric stops).
* syntax colorizing.
* file marking :
in an OTP, states, aliases, tables and expressions are
marked ;
in opl or ovp files the fontdimen and ligtable arrays are
marked as well as each
character definition.
* capacity to use from within Alpha all the auxiliary programs :
ofm2opl, opl2ofm, otp2ocp,
outocp, ovf2ovp, ovp2ovf
* editing the log file.
* creation of new OTPs, automatic generation of tables, insertion of
expressions etc.
* ready to use template for a new OTP
* conversion between numbering formats (decimal, octal, hexadecimal)
I hope it proves useful and would be glad to receive some feedback,
suggestions on how to improve it, bug reports etc.
I have included the new syntax explained in the 1.8 doc though CMacTeX
Omega has not yet been updated to version 1.8 but it will certainly be
very soon. Alpha 7.2 or later is required.
This mode can be retrieved form my Web page at the following URL :

This is a Stuffit Self Extracting Archive containing the Omega Mode
along with a Help File and an automatic install file.
Cheers,
Bernard.
