Yes I can select "Tabs to Spaces" and no, it's not greyed-out. I use Alpha not for programming, but writing text articles that do not require a Word Processor and are usually posted online. I just want to not have to select "Tabs to Spaces" before Saving. I would like Alpha to always convert any tabs I press to nnn spaces. I've configured Alpha so that each tab is equivalent to 8 spaces. I'll try a tcl script that Mark Nagata posted. Thanks everyone for the help! I do believe it's time for me to start studying tcl. PS. I just think that the "Tabs to Spaces" command in Alpha could be either permanently selected (as shown by a check-mark preceding it) or not (no check-mark by it), depending on the user's wishes. Perhaps such an option could be added to the Config menu. -- Bob Batson L 39 12 14 N 94 33 16 W rcb@kc.rr.com Kansas City TCS - Mystic Fire Priest USDA Zone 5 +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Under the most controlled conditions, the experimental apparatus will do exactly as it pleases.
