I think we've agreed several times to remove all <option><key> and 
<shift><option><key> bindings from Alpha's default behavior (as 
always, folks can do whatever they like in their own prefs files). 
<escape> is already defined as an emacsy meta key, so I think most of 
these bindings could move to that.

The question is doing it. If anybody cares to assemble an appropriate 
list of replacement bindings and/or changes to the appropriate Menu 
and Bind definitions, we can debate them and get them implemented.
