Ack! Thphfft! I'm a longtime user of both vi and EMACS, and the above still seems like an abomination. But I guess it wouldn't hurt to implement the above behavior for the sake of BBEdit die-hards (as long as it isn't bound to any keys that are commonly used for something less abominable <g>).
